Big Cats in Britain
This website has been established with the aim of consolidating information from across the country into a central database. The objective is to develop a clearer understanding of the presence, identity, behaviour, survival strategies, and potential breeding of these feline species.
Until definitive evidence is gathered regarding the various species involved, it will not be possible to afford these animals appropriate legal protection, nor to implement effective measures to inform and safeguard the public.
Once a sufficient body of credible evidence has been compiled, it can be formally presented to the relevant governmental authorities, who will then be obliged to consider appropriate protective legislation. It is important to remember that these animals did not choose to be released into the wild and should not be penalised for human actions.
We wish to make it explicitly clear that we do not advocate or condone any actions that may cause harm to these animals. Furthermore, we strongly discourage individuals or groups from attempting to locate them. Such efforts should be undertaken only by qualified professionals with the necessary expertise and understanding to do so safely and responsibly.
